Junior Customer Care Consultant/Administrative Assistant

JOB PURPOSE

To act as first point of contact for all customers contacting Tessa’s Bakery via the customer care telephone line or email. To act as the first point of contact for customers enquiring about ordering bespoke cakes. To display a genuine passion for the product and to deliver the highest level of friendly, personable service that maintains the company’s image in terms of customer relations and makes shopping at Tessa’s Bakery a genuinely pleasurable experience for our customers.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Experience of working in a retail environment, preferably food retail;
  • Clear diction and a pleasant telephone voice;
  • Excellent customer facing skills with good verbal communication and the confidence and ability to establish a rapport with customers. Ability to sell and to up-sell;
  • Good standard of spoken and written English; able to communicate effectively with customers and with management and colleagues.
  • Good basic standard of literacy;
  • IT literate. Good basic knowledge of and skill using standard Microsoft Office software, including Excel spreadsheets and Word;
  • Team player with the ability and willingness to work collaboratively and professionally with colleagues at all levels.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer care

  • On a day to day basis to manage customer expectations as the first point of call for all queries, complaints or customer orders;
  • Where appropriate, to undertake follow-up calls to customers to deliver a service that exceeds their expectations, ensuring that the standard of customer service from initial contact through to after-sales follow up service is consistently excellent;

Sales

  • To support the Wedding & Bespoke Sales Consultant;
  • To respond proactively to all incoming telephone communications, handling queries and ensuring that customers are given accurate advice on the choice of products together with information about ingredients used (and/or handled within the kitchen environment);
  • In liaison with the Wedding & Bespoke Sales Consultant, to arrange appointments for customers wishing to discuss their requirements in detail. When appropriate, to play an active role in these consultation meetings, taking clear and detailed notes of the customer’s requirements;
  • To liaise with the Wedding & Bespoke Sales Consultant and the baking and decorating team to establish production capacity, before confirming an order with the customer;
  • To process any orders placed via Tessa’s website, ensuring attention to detail and accuracy. Where necessary, to talk customers through the website ordering system.
  • General
  • Candidate must have an excellent work ethic and be a team player working together with each member of the team to ensure that customer service levels are upheld.

 

Kitchen Team Member/Junior Pastry Chef

JOB PURPOSE

  • To prepare and produce Tessa’s product range each day within the front of house kitchen, using fresh ingredients, ensuring a consistently excellent standard of quality as regards preparation, baking and decoration, whilst working effectively and efficiently to replenishing the shop counter.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Advanced baking and pastry skills achieved either via a college training module or from working in a commercial bakery;
  • Previous experience of working in an artisan luxury food retail/bakery environment, would be an advantage;
  • Good basic standard of literacy and numeracy;
  • Good basic working knowledge of food hygiene legislation;
  • Good basic command of spoken and written English;
  • Team player with the ability and willingness to work collaboratively and professionally with colleagues at all levels both within the branch and throughout the company.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Production

  • To produce a consistently excellent quality of product, adhering with the processes set out in the baking manual and using the correct ingredients. To deliver a standard of product decoration and general presentation that is in line with Tessa’s standards of excellence;
  • Working collaboratively with other kitchen team leaders and the front of house team, to produce fresh batches of product, as required, in a timely and efficient manner throughout the shift to replenish the counter. To work as directed to avoid either potential lost sales because an item(s) has sold out or overproduction resulting in wastage;
  • To participate in the daily quality control of products and report any issues to the Kitchen Team Leader.
  • To proactively record all wastage, accurately, on a daily basis.
  • To ensure that your work station is kept clean and hygienic at all times and is maintained in tidy and organised manner;
  • To participate in the daily and weekly deep clean of the kitchen;
  • To test new recipes and products for both front of house as well as our Tessa’s range of online products.

General

  • To report for work on time in accordance with the staffing roster; showcasing an excellent work ethic on a daily basis.

 

Kitchen Team Member/Icing Department 

JOB PURPOSE

To prepare and produce Tessa’s product range each day within the production kitchen, using fresh ingredients, ensuring a consistently excellent standard of quality as regards to preparation and decoration, whilst working effectively and efficiently to meet production targets and schedules.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Baking or icing skills achieved either via a training module or from working in a commercial bakery;
  • Experience of working in a similar field would be an advantage;
  • Good basic standard of literacy and numeracy;
  • Good basic working knowledge of food hygiene legislation;
  • Good basic command of spoken and written English;
  • Team player with the ability and willingness to work collaboratively and professionally with colleagues at all levels both within the branch and throughout the company.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To check the daily baking schedule and to undertake the product production activities assigned to the icing department for that shift, including stacking, filling, icing and decoration of cakes to meet the branch’s daily production schedules;
  • To deliver a standard of product decoration and general presentation that is in line with Tessa’s standards of excellence;
  • To participate in the daily quality control of products and report any issues to the Kitchen Team Leader.
  • To proactively record all wastage, accurately, on a daily basis.
  • To ensure that the work station is kept clean and hygienic at all times and is maintained in tidy and organised manner;
  • To participate in the daily and weekly deep clean of the kitchen, completing the relevant paperwork as required;

General

  • To report for work on time in accordance with the staffing roster; showcasing an excellent work ethic on a daily basis.
